Gallant and exorbitant – that’s all we can say about Marc Jacobs Fall 09 Collection. While most designers played safe with moderate color themes and contemporary fashion, Jacob has boldly infused a 1980s’ style into his fluorescent hued wardrobe.
“Is all black going to help the economy?” was Jacob’s question before the show. Indeed he brightened up New York Fashion Week with vibrant spring-summer colors. The show started in a soft cadence with black and grey, culminating in acid colors to pep up the crowd.
The combination of velvet yellow tops, satin topper coats, scarves and flannel trousers reminded us of New York club fashion in the 80s. Take a look:
