Marc Jacobs Biography – New Fashion Talent Award-Winner

In 1987, Marc Jacobs receives the Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent – the youngest designer to take the honor. Five years later, Jacobs receives the Women’s Designer of the Year Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

In 1997, Jacobs creates Louis Vuitton’s first ready-to-wear line as newly appointed Creative Director.

As of today, Marc Jacobs holds his position as Creative Director of Louis Vuitton, while continuing to oversee the Marc Jacobs Collection and sibling label Marc. The Marc Jacobs Collection remains a runway favorite, with diverse ready-to-wear offerings.
