New York Fashion Week Diary: Yves Saint Laurent’s Unisex Edition

Italian designer Stefano Pilati debuted his first unisex collection at the 2009 New York Fashion Week. Inspired by the latest Yves Saint Laurent Men’s Spring/Summer collection, this special line of 17 stylish and elegant unisex outfits bears the mark of a truly fly fashion designer.

Pilati has craftily re-fitted his men’s collection to women, creating what he calls “Edition Unisexe”.

The ready to wear collection hits stores during the Fall/Winter Fashion Weeks held across the globe. The range will be available in the men’s section of Yves Saint Laurent stores in Milan, Paris, London, and a specialty store in New York.

The End of Fashion Week As We Know It?

According to a NYTimes.com report, New York Fashion Week is ditching Bryant Park for some new digs! But where to next? Word on the street is that Lincoln Center may host New York Fashion Week from 2010 onwards.

The real question is why have the organizers decided to leave Bryant Park? The simple answer is, they haven’t – the show is being forced out by Bryant Park’s management committee.

There hasn’t been any official announcements made yet, but it will be interesting to see how Fashion Week plays out in the near future. Read more on NYTimes.com.
